DISSERTATION
Title: Digital Architectonics: A Case Study of Educator Designed Multimodal Texts
Advisor: Dr. Jennifer Sheppard (Chair)
Committee: Dr. Christopher Burnham and Dr. Patti Wojahn
Abstract: This dissertation examined the composition process of three experienced professors who spent a semester designing videos for their courses. With the advent of media authoring technologies in academic contexts, this study aimed to better understand the possibilities and practicalities of adapting these technologies for educational purposes. Findings revealed that in these new situations educators make decisions that extend traditional assumptions of print-text production to include multiple modes of communication in effort to create new educational contexts.
